Last week Wednesday Calvin started Tennis lessons at the Embassy. Ryan has been playing almost every week now, and Calvin had shown some interest in learning.
FYI:Calvin shows interest in just about everything his Daddy does!
Anyways....since he is not doing swimming right now, we thought it would be a good time to let him try something else.
It is a group lesson for ages 3 - 5. They work on basics like hand-eye coordination and footwork and getting used to how the ball bounces.
Coach Joe does a great job with the little ones. He is firm and direct but also patient and understanding of their age.
They do get a chance to hit the ball a few times during the 30 minute lesson. Calvin is doing great and hits it over the net every time!
Apparently that takes a little concentration!
He has had 3 lessons now and is doing great! He really loves it. Next month he will turn 6, so he will be in the "big kids group" for ages 6-12. It is so fun to see him participating in his first sport! Hopefully he will be able to volley with his Dad soon!

Oh, how fun! I took tennis lessons from the time I was his age & played with MY daddy while growing up. It was great! I even taught the little ones for a while. Maybe Calvin & I can play one day ;-)
